My name is Alex Ingram. I am a San Diego based Photographer and Professor who combines my skills in photography and entrepreneurialism to create dynamic content for brands and influencers that move me. I believe in the power of inner strength and community to fuel my creative vision.
After graduating with an M.F.A. from the Pratt Institute, I began working behind the scenes in New York City at Art Partner and IMG Models before moving back to California to pursue a career in Photography. This has led me to work with a plethora of clients across the board--from fashion and fitness to lifestyle, working with top tier clients such as Pura Vida Bracelets, IMG and NEXT Models, emerging social influencers such as Fit Queen Irene and Olia Majd. In addition to freelance work, I also work with True Photography, a wedding based photo studio.
Alongside my passion for photography, I also have a of love for teaching and empowering others through the to use digital media. I empower my students to create change within themselves and their community. On the collegiate, level I serve as an adjunct instructor at the Art institute of California, San Diego where I teach Advanced Coursework in studio as well as marketing and business practices for photographers. I have also worked with the Art Educational programs N throughout San Diego including Outside the Lens, The AjA Project, and The Lux Institute to develop new curriculum and methods to empower at risk youth through academia. Most recently I have partnered with the Davids Harp Foundation and Sony to pioneer a new photography program to accompany music education classes.
I consider photography to be my vehicle, as it has always served as a medium that could take me wherever I was willing to go. It is my hope that my work inspires you and shows that the road ahead might not always be easy, but it is always worth traveling!
